We’re truly thrilled to be able to share with you our latest Featured Client, Hy-Vee.
Since their inception in 1930 in Beaconsfield, Iowa, Hy-Vee has been celebrated for its commitment to exceptional customer service. After all, their tag line, “Where there’s a helpful smile in every aisle” stuck for a reason!
Hy-Vee is also an employee-owned grocery store. This means that each of its more than 84,000 employees is a valued member of the Hy-Vee family, and that every move the company makes has their input and benefits in mind.
Now, Hy-Vee has over 240 stores in 8 different states. They’re especially beloved for the creation of their HealthMarket departments, which focus on bringing healthy, organic produce and other foods to shoppers. They even have in-store chefs and dietitians so that customers can learn how to make better and smarter choices about the foods they choose to eat.
We were really touched by Hy-Vee’s commitment to philanthropy, best seen in their annual Pinky Swear 5K family fun runs/walks. These events raise money for children with cancer and their families.
Today, not only is Hy-Vee one of the top 25 supermarket chains in the world, it’s also one of the top 50 private companies in the United States.
So, when they came to us asking for our help designing floor displays to promote their free in-store magazines, we knew we had to go above and beyond – just like they do for both their customers and their employees.
Hy-Vee also asked us if we would be able to work under a deadline that was a little tighter than normal. It was no problem for us, as it only added another level of excitement to the design and execution process.
For Hy-Vee’s newest health and wellness magazine, Balance, we went with a sleek, black display case that had options for both two and three rows. Customers of all heights needed to be able to easily access their magazines, and we wanted the displays to allow for a “grab as you go” option.
Another goal was to make it clear to Hy-Vee’s customers that the magazines were a gift to them from Hy-Vee at no charge, so we clearly stamped the display with signs indicating that the material was free.
For Seasons, Hy-Vee’s culinary magazine, we wanted a nice contrast to the display we’d created for Balance. So, we opted for a crisp, stark white display, which is especially eye-catching. As with the other display, both two and three-row options were created, so the magazines could be displayed in as many different spaces as possible.
We were absolutely thrilled to be able to have the opportunity to design for Hy-Vee, and we know their customers will enjoy reading the magazines as much as we did creating the displays for them.
